Hi all! My name is Kayla, and I am the face behind The Regenerative Sower.
It’s nice to meet you! I am so glad you found my page. I grew up in Michigan and have lived in different states around the Midwest for most of my life. I currently live in Iowa with my husband. My favorite thing about the midwest is the change of seasons (yes, I’m one of those strange people who actually enjoys winter). Each season brings a new set of activities in addition to fun challenges and a fresh rhythm of life.
Here’s a little bit more about me…
My husband and I met while working as coaches at a small college in Iowa. He was coaching tennis while I was coaching basketball. Shortly after getting married in the summer of 2022, we both stepped away from coaching to pursue a simpler lifestyle.
Inspired by a search for alternative treatments for my husband’s health issue, we are on a journey to grow and cook our own foods from scratch, become more self-sufficient, and to live simply and naturally. The journey has also led us to discover and develop a passion for regenerative agricultural and we dream of owning our own regenerative farm one day!
We are only just beginning this journey and it has already transformed both my husband’s health and my own. Now, we cannot imagine living or eating another way!
What You’ll Find on The Regenerative Sower

Fun Facts About Kayla
- I grew up on a traditional cash crop farm and fled the agricultural and country life for years before falling in love with it once again.
- I have traveled to 49 of the 50 states. Alaska, very fittingly, will be my final frontier!
- I LOVE being outdoors. We spend much of our time playing tennis, camping, hiking, and biking.
We hope to help others on their own journeys whether it be for health reasons, becoming more self-sufficient, or seeking a life of simplicity. I would love to connect with you and answer any questions you might have. Please feel free to reach out to me here!
