Basic Apple Crisp Recipe with Oats

Filling
- 4 cups Sliced Apples sliced in 1/4 thick pieces
- 1 Tbsp Melted Coconut Oil or Butter
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Oat Topping
- 1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/2 cup Shredded Coconut or Coconut Flakes
- 1/3 cup Pecans or Walnuts chopped
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Melted Coconut Oil or Butter
- 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Filling
Peel and cut apple slices into 1/4 inch thick slices.
Melt coconut oil. Toss apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt, and coconut oil. Spread mixture evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
Oat Topping
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 baking dish with butter or coconut oil.
Mix together oats, coconut flakes, pecans, and spices. Melt coconut oil or butter and add to mixture with the maple syrup. Stir until combined.
Spread crisp topping evenly over the apples.
Baking
1. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, removed the cover and bake for another 10-20 minutes until apples are fork tender and the crisp topping is golden brown.
Let rest for 10 minutes for it to cool and to allow the apple filling to set up.
Serve with your favorite toppings or by itself and enjoy!
